Strapper Surf 50 Year Tee

We’re stoked to announce that 2026 marks 50 Years of all things Strapper.

Since 1976 Dennis ‘Strapper’ Day was on a mission to go surfing, make surfboards and hang out with his mates that surfed. Michael ‘DSAS’ Di Sciascio at 15 years old joined Strapper in ’79 learning to make surfboards in our factory which in those days was a sheep shearing shed close to Bells Beach. In ’89 Mike took over Strapper and now five decades on 2026 marks 50 years of a shared passion for surfing, making surfboards and being a foundation for the Torquay surf community and culture. Strapper is still local owned and operated by Mike D’Sas and continues to be The Surfers Shop.
